DIGISMART 2021

WORKSHOP DIGISMART 2021

Digital Transformation and Smart City

Deadline:  May 10, 2021

In a context of Digital Transformation, such as a Smart City, it is of considerable importance to plan the cities of the future. A smart city can be defined as a city that includes a digital layer, which is used not only to store information about the city but above all for its governance. In a scenario of this type it is obvious to find yourself managing large quantities and different types of data (Big data), this type of organization involves a considerable effort in integrating them. Today data are produced by numerous devices (IoT), by users connected in a more or less shared network system, many times these data are organized in various ways that do not allow easy connection between them, at the same time we can recognize that the data

contain an intrinsic richness if related in a coherent way. Based on these premises, this workshop aims to organize and analyze data in a “Smart Data” logic to favor an enrichment of the services that can be used in “Smart Services” systems.

Subtopics of interest include but are not limited to:

Digital Transformation:

  • Digital Connectivity as a driver of development, post COVID-19;
  • Competition in digital platforms and ecosystems;
  • Relationship between digital innovation and environmental sustainability;
  • Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing and new configuration of global factories;
  • Digitalization of services, application of machine learning and AI to address service challenges;
  • Advanced analytics in smart service systems;
  • Design and development of Smart Service platforms and processes;

Smart cities:

  • Geographic and urban knowledge modeling and engineering;
  • Urban data analytics and big data;
  • Open data and big data analytics;
  • Digital city and smart growth;
  • 3D modeling of cities;
  • Internet of Things (IoT);
  • Energy and Buildings;
  • Urban social networks;
  • Mobility and transportation;
